Tower of Magi

"what next?" She askk.
((Because a question mark isn't enough.))

Logan shrugs "Well, now that you have it, just do whatever you want with it. Give it a new form, solidify it into a ball of rock and throw it at something, whatever."

She steps a few steps further from the templar. "What might I throw it at?"

Logan shrugs again "I dunno, whatever. Toss it at a tree or something."

She gets ready to throw the ball of mud at a tree, but then spins around, throwing the ball straight at Logan's face.

Logan raises his hand and stops it dead in the air, he stares coldly at her for a second and then bursts out laughing, tossing the ball into the air and obliterating it with a blade of wind " I knew I liked the look of you. That was funny. "

Myra smiles, half relieved that her friend wasn't actually hurt by her prank, but also half wishing the ball of mud had hit that dirty good-for-nothing templar rigt square in the face, k.ocking him out.

Logan's smile half-fades when he looks back at her "Wait a second....I know that smile. That's the smile my parents had when they first saw that I was a Mage. A half-smile. One that's stuck between joy and animosity. I know what that smile's about." He walks over to her "That smile means you still think of me, at least in part, as a Templar. Just one more big bastard in a metal suit trying to keep you under control." His smile fades into a thought-filled gaze, looking this way and that as he thinks.

Myra turns away from him, suddenky feeling a lack of joy.

Logan blinks and his gaze refocuses. He rests a hand on her shoulder "That may be your impression of me, but believe me that's not who I am. I may have been a Templar, but I'm not. Not anymore. I may have taken their vows, their weapons, their armor, their creed, but that's all. I'm something else, something more. I'm something nobody has ever seen. I'm new, I'm different, and frankly I frighten them. It's why they brought me here. Sure you frighten them, that's why they put you here. But I'm sixteen times more scary. They put me here because they thought that a ward would only piss me off."

Logan sighs "And they were wrong. It wouldn't make me angry...just depressed. Deeply saddened that they wouldn't trust me even after I'd spent so long in their ranks...but that would only be the beginning. First depression, then through depression would grow anger, and through anger hate, and through that hate would grow into rage...and I don't want to think what would happen if I grew enraged...especially with the power at my disposal."

"And you think that what you are saying will help me trust you?"

"I'd hope so. Explaining just how hurt I feel because you still think of me as a Templar is really the only way I can think of without cutting one of them down in front of you, and I don't think I can do that."

Myra is silent.

Logan takes his hand off her shoulder and lets it fall to his side "I understand if you need some time to understand and process. I'm going back to the Barracks to take a rest."

Myra waits until after Logan leaves to exit.

Logan returns to the barracks and just crashes onto his bed.

Myra walks about the halls of the tower.
